Businesses and activities in the new NSEF 2014-2020

The public consultation on the new NSRF among ministries, agencies and businesses is under way. By the end of the month the basic proposed actions will be sent to the European Union for approval. At the same time, the consultation and specification of actions will continue for the first programs to start in Autumn 2014. For the first time special attention shall be given to the private sector for enhancing existing businesses and developing new ones with funds that will exceed 4 billion through the EPAnEK programs. The areas to be supported are:

• Tourism
• Supply Chain
• Agro-Nutrition
• Energy
• Environment
• Information and communication technology
• Health and pharmaceutical industry
• Materials and construction
• Cultural and creative industries

Especially for the tourism industry business plans should provide for projects combining quality infrastructure, modern equipment, total exploitation of on-line viewing, web marketing of accommodation as well as mentoring-consulting especially in small and medium enterprises in financial and administrative matters required for the viability of the businesses.

In summary the characteristics of companies which will have priority in the new programs are:

• Extroversion
• Innovation / creativity
• Competitiveness-perspective
• Groups of companies – partnerships
• Targeting niches in global markets
• Low CO2 footprint / Low environmental burden
• New companies
